More info from the teacher:
In the Foundations class, students learn the foundational skills necessary to begin study in science, social studies, reading, language arts, writing, and math.
Live, online group instruction takes place Monday to Wednesday mornings and evenings with students also working independently. On Thursdays, the class meets in-person at our campus at 1201 San Mateo Blvd. SE.
Students start every day with language and reading instruction, and then move onto math. A break is taken halfway through the class.
Post-testing is required every several months in order to measure student progress. The test is not for a grade.
The instructor and other staff at ABQ-ALC offer students guidance and support as they work to achieve their educational goals. The students are expected to sign an agreement regarding their commitment to attending class or studying 8 hours a week on a regular basis.
When post-test scores increase to a certain extent, the student will then move to a High School Equivalency to work towards their HSE diploma. They will have a similar schedule but a different instructor.
